HANDLING DISPUTES WITH HMRC

An important part of our work is to assist in the resolution of disputes. In many cases we draft letters on behalf of our professional clients, and it is often our experience that we are able to put forward fresh contentions that result in agreement being reached in an otherwise intractable dispute. Our expertise in statutory interpretation often makes all the difference.

We are happy to attend meetings with HMRC. 

If agreement is not reached we advise on the prospects of a successful appeal; we deal with all procedural matters and advise on the evidence to be adduced. Isolated points can often be dealt with without an appeal under the recently introduced procedure for the referral to Commissioners of agreed issues.
