VAT, customs and excise specialist with a litigation based practice throughout the UK.
Qualifications and experience:
Richard was called to the bar in 1970 and he practised in common law before spending 14 years in the Customs and Excise solicitor's office where he attained the rank of Grade 5 (equivalent to Assistant Secretary).
Since 1988, when he returned to practise at the Bar, he has developed a specialist practice in VAT and all customs or excise related matters. He now practises exclusively in those areas.
He was educated in Kendal and Manchester before graduating from the LSE (LLB) and has an MSc in construction law and arbitration.
